Founded in 1889, Frénéhard is now France’s leading manufacturer of metal fittings for building work envelopes.
Frénéhard: the story of a moving expertise
For over 130 years, Frénéhard has been developing its expertise in roofs and facades – from guttering to roofing – and has established itself as a reference amongst professionals.
The company designs complete solutions to ensure safety at work, thanks to its close ties to the field and close collaboration with craftsmen, specifiers and distributors, particularly on fall protection solutions.
Our history
1889: Creation of Ets Fernand Michaux
Fernand MICHAUX and Julien FRÉNÉHARD began manufacturing roof frames in L’Aigle (61300).
1922: Creation of Frénéhard & Michaux
Foundation of the family-run business Frénéhard & Michaux, in L'Aigle (61300).
Launch of the production of gutter accessories (gutter hooks and downpipe clamps).
1982
Acquisition of MARAIS: Rouen Hooks / Universal Hooks
1986
Acquisition of VADOT®
1997: Acquisition of Ets CHALVET: ANJOU COLOR®
Integration of the CHALVET establishments in Angers (49100).
Launch of the production of roofing accessories and slate hooks.
1997: Creation of the ANKORA® - POLYCONSOLE® range
Launch of the production of height fall protection equipment.
2003
Launch of the SECURIGARD® range
2009: Acquisition of the UNYC® range
Acquisition of the UNYC® brand, which specialises in the manufacture of fall arrest PPE and lifelines.
2016
Creation of Frénéhard & Michaux Holding and the formation of FRÉNÉHARD SAS, thereby structuring the group’s organisation and marking a new stage in its industrial development.
2023: Launch of the FRÉNÉHARD PLIAGE business
A new digital service dedicated to bent and shaped metal profiles for building work envelopes and outdoor fittings.
It utilises an online configurator that enables professionals to easily design their bespoke parts, with a quick preview, covering several sectors: Roofing & Waterproofing, Facade & Cladding, Joinery & Doors & Windows, and Custom-Cut Sheet Metal.
A new chapter in the same story: that of industrial expertise which evolves with the times, whilst never losing touch with its roots.
Frénéhard is thus continuing to grow by combining innovation, a hands-on approach and high industrial standards, with a view to providing long-term support to building work professionals in their projects.
